The ideal suit for wedding guests

First, you should find out whether there is a prescribed dress code. This makes it easier to choose the suit, as it provides certain guidelines that you can use as a guide. You can usually find the dress code on the wedding invitation so you can get started right away. The most common dress codes include Black Tie, Black Tie Optional, creative Black Tie, cocktail wear, and casual wear.

What do these terms mean?

Black Tie: This is the most formal type of dress code. You should wear a black tuxedo with a black bow tie, a white tuxedo shirt, and black patent shoes. A discreet white handkerchief completes the ensemble.

Black Tie Optional: This dress code may seem confusing at first, but it simply means that a tuxedo is optional. If you're unsure, check with someone. If you don't want to wear a tuxedo, opt for a dark suit in black, anthracite or navy blue. Pair with a white shirt, dark leather shoes and a black bow tie or tie.

Creative black tie: As the name suggests, you can be more creative with this type of dress code. You don't necessarily have to wear a tuxedo and you can also vary the color of the suit. Think of celebrities on the red carpet: elegant tuxedos or tuxedo shirts, black patent leather shoes, and a bow tie or tie. For example, you can choose a white tuxedo with black pants and a bow tie or a burgundy tuxedo jacket with black pants and a tie.

Cocktail dress: This dress code offers more creative leeway. Wear a dark suit and dark leather shoes, but be bold when choosing a shirt and tie. For example, you can wear a light blue shirt under a navy blue suit or a deep plum shirt under a black suit. With a patterned tie (floral pattern, paisley, stripes, etc.), you can lighten up the monochrome look. When it comes to cocktail wear, you can also be more creative with your pocket square and use more noticeable folds.

Casual clothes: Don't be fooled by the term “casual” — it doesn't mean that you can wear a T-shirt and jeans (unless the bridal couple specifically states this, which is very rare though). You should still wear a suit, leather shoes, and a shirt, but you have the freedom to choose different colors and patterns. You can wear a patterned shirt and even omit the tie if you wish. For a spring or summer wedding, you can opt for a lighter suit such as blue or beige. If the wedding takes place in the cooler season, gray or brown are always a good choice. If you prefer dark suits, that's fine too. Casual clothing gives you the most options in terms of color and style, but you shouldn't look too flashy by wearing a tuxedo jacket or bow tie to a more informal wedding, for example. Pick a tailored suit in a color you like and you'll look great.

No dress code? In such cases, choosing the right suit can actually be difficult. There are so many different wedding styles and dress codes these days that it's easy to lose track of them. However, you should always be dressed appropriately at a wedding, even if the bridal couple does not specify a specific dress code. The formality of the dress code can be determined based on the venue: For weddings in elegant churches, hotels, mansions, country clubs or banquet halls, you should dress smartly. Weddings in parks, gardens, farms or private homes may be a bit more relaxed, but a suit is still appropriate. A good rule of thumb is to use cocktail attire as a guide. A well-tailored, dark suit is suitable for many formal occasions and is a worthwhile investment.

Discover the Neapolitan style!

Although various Italian regions have developed their own interpretation of the style over the years, the Neapolitan tailoring style remains the most well-known. It is characterized by unique features, such as the famous spalla camicia or the soft shoulders, the minimal lining and the barchetta or the patch pockets. Some of these features were created to suit the mild climate of the city of Naples, others arose from the need to give free rein to body movements in order to give wearers the opportunity to gesture freely, as Italians, and especially Neapolitans, usually do. All this makes the Neapolitan style unique and special, the epitome of Italian elegance and taste, and thanks to ATELIER VERTO, you too can now discover and enjoy it in your everyday life, wherever you are.

On the wedding day, the bride and groom usually dress separately and prepare for the big moment. Both the bride and groom can usually count on practical and emotional support from friends or relatives. The following points help to optimize the appearance just before the important moment:

· All shirt buttons closed

· shirt collar under jacket collar

· Plastron tight to the neck

· The shirt cuff looks slightly out from under the jacket sleeve

· Cufflinks fit properly

· The tie, bow tie and pocket handkerchief in the jacket fit correctly

· Polished shoes

· The sole of leather soles is slightly brushed (to prevent slipping)
